Uniting Non-Profits for Housing and Education in Dundee
Dundee Commons is an innovative project that ties three local non-profit organizations to provide affordable housing and early childhood education programs in Dundee. Newberg First United Methodist Church will contribute the land for this project, while Newberg Area Habitat for Humanity offers its extensive experience in assisting qualified low-income families in constructing and owning safe, affordable housing. Additionally, Head Start of Yamhill County provides comprehensive early learning programs designed to benefit low-income children and their families.
Together, these organizations will develop a three-story building in downtown Dundee, which will feature two Head Start classrooms capable of supporting 30 to 50 children through free preschool and family services. The project will also include four three-bedroom homes, which will be sold to our partnering families.
